Taxi operators : Some useful details

Some Worthing taxis have the largest fleet of taxis including all types and styles of vehicles with the latest equipments fitted in them to give maximum comfort of the customer. Customers can get all types of taxis in Lancing at all hours to any destination of their choice. It is very clear that the kinds of vehicles that are named as taxis vary from country to country, and from place to place. Taxi/Hackney Carriages (London Black Cabs) and Licensed Private Hire (Minicabs) are the two types of taxis licensed in London for the use of the public. It is also necessary to mention about the private hire which includes local 'Minicabs', Limousine Hire, Chauffeurs and Chauffeur Drivers, Airport Transfer Car Services and all non-hackney licensed car & driver services including Stretch Limo's. Exclusive of the above mentioned vehicles, other car and driver services offered in Greater London are illegal.

It can be concluded that minicabs are common cars that have been given license by the Public Carriage Office so that they can be used by the public for services. These cabs cannot be booked on the street, instead they can be booked only by the help of a licensed Private Hire Operator. It is important to know that if you hire a minicab you have to agree on the fare before hand, as they are not metered. If you order a taxi then when the taxi comes make sure that it has come from the firm in which you had placed the order. There are certain specifications that a private hire driver should follow they are; Public Carriage Office Driver License and a Fully Licensed vehicle which can easily be checked by the round license plate in the front and rear windows. If the driver has not worn his badge, then he has no right to carry you. When you are in London you can hire a car to drive yourself while in London, driving and parking can be a bit confusing though, so make sure you know your destination or can read a map on the go, and be sure about the fee.
