The Ups and Downs of the Apple iPad 2

With the Apple iPad 2, we have another example of how effectively Apple markets its products. Even before all the excitement from the first iPad diminished, the iPad2 was released, making people wonder what changes have been made. Whether you are considering an upgrade from the original iPad or were holding out for the iPad 2, this review will cover some of the main features of this product.

In any kind of portable device, battery life is a serious issue, as you may not always be in a place where you can plug it in. When something like the iPad has a good battery, its a pleasure to not have to worry about plugging it in if you don't want to. The battery life of the original iPad was 10 hours, which is quite impressive considering all the things you can do on it. Offering added RAM and additional features such as a camera, the iPad 2 still has about the same amount of battery life and there are some tests that say it is a bit longer. This is very convenient if you're taking your iPad on a long plane ride, or perhaps want to watch a few videos without having to plug it in.

There is 512 MB RAM in the Apple iPad 2--twice that of its original version. Web browsing, then, is easier because the pages and images load faster. For many everyday uses, the difference in memory won't be that noticeable, but for playing games and other functions that use up lots of RAM, it's quite significant. Things like watching videos, editing videos, going through photos, etc use up lots of memory so having double the memory capacity makes the device quite a lot more powerful and capable of lots of stuff. Of course, if you already own an iPad, this may not be reason enough for you to upgrade to an iPad 2, but it makes this model more appealing for first time buyers.

One of the most particularly frustrating aspects of modern technology is that almost before you finish paying for a new piece of technology a newer and vastly updated version of that same technology is released. This is what happened when many people bought the iPad when it first came out. The simple truth, though, is that you don't need an iPad 2 if you have purchased the original iPad even if the second generation has some things that the original does not. Sure the camera is a nice addition but you most likely have at last one camera on a different device. So if you purchased an original iPad, you might wish that you had waited for the Apple iPad 2 but you don't have to feel that bad because you aren't going to be forced to live without something that you can't live without...so to speak.

While it isn't nearly perfect, there are still plenty of reasons to purchase an Apple iPad 2. As long as you don't miss the capability of flash or expect a whole lot from either of the cameras, you can still have a perfectly fun time browsing the internet, watching videos and using FaceTime to video chat with your friends. You shouldn't try to use the Apple iPad 2 as a replacement for your primary computing or technological device but it can still be really fun and interesting to use. Finding essentially the most out of your Apple iPad 2 buy is all about xanax 2mg bars.
